In 2018, we joined forces with Taylor's Port to continue this initiative by creating the Climate Change Leadership Summit. The first edition was held in 2018 and included the participation of President Barack Obama as the main speaker alongside UNESCO Director Irina Bokova and Nobel prize winner Mohan Munasinghe.

During this event, President Obama presented the Porto Protocol, a non-profit initiative to unite the world wine sector to mitigate and adapt to climate change.

Based on this incomparable experience, we are designing a seminar on climate change for the Wine Industry, which has the support of the sustainability department of The American College in Spain.

In Chrand we were pioneers in the organization of the first congress in which the impacts of climate change in a sector as specific as wine was analyzed. This was the first edition of the World Congress on Climate Change and Wine held in Barcelona in 2006. This event was followed by the editions of 2008 and 2011 in which the main world authorities in the wine sector counted as speakers and with the participation of the former US Vice President Al Gore and the former UN Secretary General as the invited speakers.

In March 2019, the second part of the event was held under the name of Climate Change Leadership - Solutions for the Wine Industry. This summit was attended by more than 50 speakers from the most important wine companies and organizations around the world. The closing session of the congress featured Vice President Al Gore as a star guest alongside climate leaders like Hindu Afroz Shah or WWF European director Ester Asín.

From 2006 onwards, our team has held conferences and courses on climate change in more than 20 countries, most of them aimed at the wine sector but also for the other sectors or for society in general.
